ADULT MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP
REGISTRATION IS OPEN for our Adult Musical Theatre workshop!! Dust off those performance shoes & shine like the star that you are with Miss Alissa & Miss Abigail in this 4 week workshop! Classes are February 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th from 7-8pm. Don’t miss out on learning from two of the most talented performers in Missoula!
MY BUDDY & ME WORKSHOP
Our first My Buddy & Me workshop of 2025 is scheduled to start this week! We are so excited to have the tiniest dancers under our roof again dancing right beside their favorite grown up!! Since we had so much fun in the fall, we are extending the workshop from 4 weeks to 6 weeks…yay! Please check out the description & details below to see if this is a good fit for you & your mini me! Help us spread the word if you can think of anyone that might be interested.
This 30 minute creative movement class that meets at 10:30am on Thursdays, will teach a concept through props & developmentally appropriate dance. It’s a fun way to get your tiny dancer moving & learning at the same time! The workshop is only $60 & will meet on February 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, March 6th & 13th. Space is limited with a 4 pair minimum. REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!
COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS
The Performance Company & Sparklers 3 dancers will be performing at the Lady Griz basketball game on February 6th & the Men’s Griz basketball game on February 15th! Come join us at the games to cheer them on!
The Studio M Booster club will be hosting a pint night at the Kettlehouse on February 21st. $1/pint will go towards supporting competition company families in their dance travel endeavors. It’s a fun way to support some great families!
Our Competition Company dancers will be performing at our SHOW & SHINE FUNdraiser at the Westside Theater on February 22nd; 2pm. Please come see their amazing dances in person & support two causes at one time: The Studio M Booster Club as well as the Studio M Scholarship Fund. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $10/person or $25/family (2 adults; 2 children). There will be raffle baskets as well. It will surely be a fabulous way to spend a cold Saturday afternoon in February!
ROSES ARE RED SPIRIT WEEK
Spirit Week is NEXT WEEK February 10th-14th. The theme for our monthly Spirit Week is ROSES ARE RED! Students will be doing a short craft project where they will decorate hearts that will adorn our hallway walls through the end of the month. Please have them come to dance in any of the following colors: Pink, Red, White, Rainbow, Purple (of course) or any color that represents love to you. Our basic dress code rules apply: covered midriff & lower back, hair pulled back & appropriate shoes. Additionally, our Spirit Wall will be decked out so we will take a bunch of photos.
LOST & FOUND
When you come into the studio to pick up or drop off your dancer, please take a moment to peruse the lost & found bin. We will be donating all remaining items to Good Will at the end of the month.
NEW STUDENTS
Our registration will officially close on February 14th so we are still adding new families! We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the newest dancers! A couple of tidbits for the new Studio M Stars & reminders for everyone else:
Make sure your dancer is following dress code. Basic rules: hair pulled back, proper shoes, belly & bottoms covered. Be sure to check your class description for more details.

REMINDERS/REFRESHERS
Please try to park on the West side of the building (the side with our logo on the wall) when dropping off & picking up your dancer. This helps with consistency for the kids and staff especially during the dark hours of the winter. We would prefer that the East entrance is used for staff only but if you have to use that side, please walk your dancer to the door & plan to meet them at the door for pickup as well. The East side is darker than the West & there is additional traffic as other organizations use the opposite side of the building.
Tots & Littles parents are asked to stay in the building during the entirety of their dancer’s class however, we ask that ALL other parents only enter the building for drop off or pick up. We try to keep the halls as clear as possible to avoid distraction, germ passing & overall crowding in a tight space. We offer Zoom for every class so you can watch from afar.
If your dancer is sick at all, please take advantage of our Zoom option. Don’t forget that you can email a request for a class recording up to 2 weeks after the missed class.
We have a Facebook Group designated for families to communicate with one another. It’s a great way to sell/trade used shoes & dance attire. Plus the Booster Club posts about hosted events there as well. It’s called Studio M Dance Fam. You will need to answer a couple of questions and be approved to join. SUMMER PROGRAM
We will have a SUPER summer program again this year! We are also working on adding a few other workshops/bootcamps. Keep an eye on our socials for themes but in the meantime, here are our long awaited dates.
Tot PopUps (2-3yrs) 5:15pm-6:30pm

Minis (4-6yrs) 9am-12pm; Juniors (7-9yrs) 1pm-4pm
- Camp #1: June 23rd-27th
- Camp #2: July 7th-11th
- Camp #3: July 21st-25th
- Camp #4: August 4th-8th
Summer Intensives: Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced (10yrs+); 4 day workshop – days/time TBD
- Intensive #1: July 14th-18th
- Intensive #2: August 11th-15th
Ballet Bootcamp – Intermediate/Advanced; 5pm-6:30pm
- July 24th; July 31st; August 7th; August 21st
Each camp is $160 & each intensive is $230. Bootcamps are $80 for all classes or $20/class. Registration opens Monday – March 3rd at 12pm & there is limited spacing so get your dancer enrolled FAST!
SPRING SWIRL CLASSES
Registration will soon close for our Season 6 regular schedule but we are open to providing Spring Swirl classes based on interest. If you want your dancer to try something new, these 45min combo classes will run March/April/May & are sure to be a blast plus a good intro to multiple genres. Spring Swirl students will participate in the recital with a short performance wearing their recital tanks. These classes also have supplemental curriculum so they are a bit different than your average dance class. Let us know if you are interested or if you have a friend that missed our early registration deadline.
The RECITAL Run-through
It is officially the time to start dumping recital info into your world!! I know you are so excited!! This section of the Happenings will consist of your monthly recital reminders & any new recital information…
Our annual recital – Studio M Presents…LEVEL UP! – will be presented to a lively and fun audience the week of May 26th. Dress rehearsals will be scheduled in the beginning of the week & shows will happen on Thursday the 29th, Friday the 30th & Saturday the 31st. We will be conquering the good recital vibes while we LEVEL UP at the Dennison Theatre. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
We will have Recital Costume Photo Week May 12th-May 16th. All dancers will attend this week in their costume & get group/individual shots taken. Full class group photos will be distributed to all (group shots included in your recital fee) & individual shots can be purchased via a photo package. We will also use this week as a dress run-through in costume. Registration date & details coming soon.
Recital Tickets will go on sale April 1st. We will be using a 3rd party vendor called TuTu Tix. You can purchase tickets online through their website. More details to come…
We will start designing our annual recital tanks SOON so please be sure to get your dancers size in the portal. Recital tanks are included in your annual Recital Fee.
Recital Fees are due on May 1st. Each child participating in the recital is charged a $60 fee that covers group, photos recital tanks, recital video links & payroll for recital week.
SUBSTITUTES
As you hopefully know, we have an OUTSTANDING staff that not only has other successful careers but is also highly involved in the Missoula performing arts community. With that, you may be seeing a sub in your child’s class in the coming months. Rest assured that any person assigned to teach a certain class is more than qualified & happy to be there inspiring your dancer!

The Performance Company will be performing at the Women’s fair on March 8th! Come show them your support & check out some awesome vendors.
Spring Break is scheduled for March 17th-21st. The studio will be closed for the week.
